Womb Chair by Eero Saarinen for Knoll

The Chair by Hans J. Wegner for PP Møbler
Presented by Torp

torpinc.com | pp.dk

Torp is very excited to present Hans Wegner’s iconic chair pp503 at IDS Platform. This chair paved the way internationally for what has become known as Danish Modern.

Hans Wegner said about The Chair: “The creative process was an advanced process of purifying, for me a simplification, cutting the elements down to the bare essentials: four legs, a seat and combined top rail and arm rest.”

Hans Wegner’s goal was to make beautiful functional (and comfortable) furniture that would last as long as it takes a tree to grow using the best skills of Danish master cabinet makers. He was very concerned that industrial and commercial interests would eventually eliminate the important master cabinet makers and their skills and intimate knowledge of working with wood.

TORP represents Danish companies that offer unique designs of high quality.
